A day at the beach

As part of their summer break, the kids got to go the beach for a day.  It was about a 2 1/2 drive each way.  The kids were split into two groups and went on two different days.  I went one with one group and Madison went the next day with the second group.  They really had a lot of fun!

This is Ana and Milagros who are two of the newer girls to the home.  Milagros and her sister Maria had never seen the beach before.

Angie was having a good time running down to the shore and back.

The water was really cold so Angie hesitates to get in.

Angie, Ana and Milagros check out the waves.

Diego Armando is filling up a baby pool with ocean water.  It took me awhile to figure this out but the water in the baby pool eventually warms up and they get it in for a few minutes after they have been in the cold ocean water.  After they warm up a little they run and get back in the cold water!

Diego Armando and Juan Diego search for crabs...and they found a lot!

This is a view from above of the beach area.

Wilber and Diego Armando bringing in water for the baby pool.

Some of the girls playing in the surf.

Still a little too cold for Juan Diego!

Maria, Jimena and Juan Diego find the kelp interesting.

More play in the surf.

The kids enjoy a slice of watermelon as they warm up in the baby pool.

There were several jellyfish washed up on the shore.  It's called a "Medusa".

Angie, Wilber and Maria check out a Medusa.

Milagros really enjoyed the ocean.

Milagros and Wilber take a break to play in the sand.

I think they are making Ana into a sand mermaid.

Diego Armando, Isela, Tamara and Milagros.

Waldir warns little Angie to stay back from the Medusa.

The only picture I could get of Wilber looking at the camera!
